JOSH ANGEL

ATLANTA, GA

Andrew (AKA DJ TrashPanda) started dancing West Coast Swing at the University of Georgia in 2013 as part of his ballroom training in the UGA Ballroom Performance Group. He would go on to attend as many local socials as possible such as Wicked Westie, Swing Invasion, and the Atlanta Swing Dancer’s Club. His first time at Atlanta Swing Classic in 2015 was an eye opening experience and led to several years of traveling all over the US and even internationally for WCS.

After countless events, Andrew started to dip his toes into DJing through Wicked Westie’s once a month So You Think You Can DJ, where dancers were invited to play 1-3 songs. This would lead him to officially start DJing regularly at local socials, quickly becoming a local favorite. His sets contain a mix of pop, R&B, hip-hop, KPop, acoustic, jazz, blues, etc. designed to keep dancers moving all night long. Above all, he strives to create an environment for creation, exploration, and human connection.

Since 2022, he’s been fortunate to DJ multiple events including Atlanta Swing Classic, Spotlight New Year’s Celebration, Swingover, Charlotte Westie Fest, Trilogy Swing, Swingtacular, USA Grand National Dance Championships, and Swing City Chicago. Whether it’s social, competition, bumper, or even routines, Andrew strives to develop himself as a well-rounded DJ. (But he has never forgotten his first love of Late Nite and loves keeping the energy going with fun bumper sets).
